The City of Jyväskylä arranged its fourth stakeholder meeting on 15th of April 2024, gathering once again the regional cross organisational and cross sectoral Talent Central network. A group of 15 people attended the meeting to discuss the ongoing commenting phase of Jyväskylä’s Baseline Study as well as the schedule and process for upcoming Peer Reviews. In addition to this, smaller group discussions were held to deliberate upon the questions related to engagement of the international population as well as businesses and employers in the collective ecosystem building work. Regional statistics related to subgroups within the target group were also shown during the meeting including the labour force availability and shortage, matching problems in different work fields and the corresponding work permit policies. A guest was also invited to share a good practice supporting entrepreneurship and networking for international people.

The outcome of this meeting was enhanced participation in the Jyväskylä’s Baseline Study commenting and increased awareness regarding the upcoming Peer Reviews. Small group discussions brought forward the significance of already existing forums and groups which could possibly be utilised as a platform for increasing the participation of the target group. The meeting ended with listing of the points to be focused upon and re-visited in detail in future stakeholder meetings and an agreement upon the next workshop for Good Practice sharing in the month of May.

Thanking City of Jyväskylä, Keski-Suomen ELY-Keskus, University of Jyväskylä, Jamk University of Applied Sciences, Gradia Jyväskylä, Paremmin Yhdessä ry, Keski-Suomen Kauppakamari, and Hemagon for the precious collaborative work and great insights.
